Warnings and Dedications

Ask my family to describe me and they'll use words like "quirky", "unique", and others that are synonymous with "weirdo" to everyone who is not related to me (and some who are).  This is mostly because I am an aspiring nomad.  I take photos and throw darts at a world map to determine where I should go to experience life next.  My family is always wondering where I've been since I haven't been returning emails, texts, phone calls, or carrier pigeons for what seems like ever.  So, I'm finally caving.  For a long time I undulated between publicly documenting my experiences and keeping them private.  To blog or not to blog.  To go public or keep it private yet inefficiently communicated.  Telling travel stories is much like running a good business; it always comes down to what makes the most sense financially.  In my case, my phone bill was getting too high and I was finally sick of the barrage of emails, texts, phone calls, and birds I had to return when I got home.  *shrugs*  So, blog.  In this light, this site will be completely self-indulgent, sometimes trashy, but always an efficient way for me to relay my stories and work to people who are curious (yes parents and in-laws, basically just you).   With all of this being said, I truly hope you get some enjoyment out of this site.  If you enjoy it even the tiniest bit, then my completely self-indulgent, trashy site of efficient self-expression will have contributed to society in some small way.

To my family: this is for you.

To my cell phone company: I'm not paying so you might as well stop asking.

  1. Hello there Katie. Great work you're doing. Burnout no shit. Yes, I had to look around a little bit because I always want to find the smart ones.
When I saw you're in Denver I figured I'd say hi somewhere a little more private. Lu@QforLu.com
